IM Affiliate Funnel Review

Today I’ll be reviewing a product called IM Affiliate Funnel.

This is a product from Kevin Fahey, who is no stranger to creating products and affiliate marketing.  

The primary core of this product is a 47 page PDF explaining what affiliate marketing is and how to cash in on it correctly.  It took him about 3 months to write it, but it won’t take you nearly as long to read it.  There are also around 40 minutes of video giving an overview of the PDF.

Chapter 1: Why Affiliate Marketing  

This section starts off explaining the basics of affiliate marketing.  This information will be nothing new to more experienced people, but it’s not designed to be.  

Topics covered in this small section include:

  • Getting Proven Results
  • Building Relationships
  • Maximize Income Stream

If you’re new, this is a good place to start, which is probably why it’s at the beginning.  Seems logical.

Chapter 2: The Requirements to Get Started

Again, this chapter has pretty basic stuff as well.  This is to be expected from a chapter title that includes the words “to get started”.

This chapter covers the following:

  • Hosting
  • Autoresponder
  • Affiliate Platforms

As a I said, this is very basic information, but newbies need to know this stuff.

Chapter 3: Picking Your Niche

Deciding on a niche is very important.  After all, there’s no point in going into a niche that lacks buyers.  Sorry, but only your mom will be buying your guide on how to stare at a wall for 8 hours straight to “cure boredom”.

This chapter is also short, or as I call it, no longer than it needs to be.  It says what it has to say and gets out of your way.

Chapter 4: Branding Your Promotion

This chapter is all about credibility and trust.  You’ll be presented with a flow chart that admittedly looks a bit complicated, but make like Dorothy and follow the yellow brick road (or in this case, the arrows).

The flow chart breaks down the ABC method:

  • Advertising
  • Branding
  • Credibility

Chapter 5: Choosing the Right Offer

This is where things pick up the pace with a chapter considerably longer than those before it.  For many people, this will be where the rubber meets the road.

Here’s a snapshot of what’s covered:

  • Does the offer suit my audience or list?
  • Does the offer include a funnel with upsells & downsells?
  • Is the product priced correctly?
  • Will the commission structure earn me $1.00+ per click?
  • Is there an affiliate contest?
  • Is the product evergreen?
  • Are there promotional materials & bonuses provided?
  • Is the product creator a respectable marketer?
  • Does the product creator have a history of released high converting products?

There’s a lot to consume here, but this is breaking down how the big affiliates (also known as super affiliates) think.  Believe it or not, there is a method to their madness.

Chapter 6: Free Traffic Methods

Free.  That magic word that everyone likes to hear.  

Traffic.  That thing that all businesses need to be profitable.

This section covers the following:

  • Blogging
  • YouTube
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Google+

Let’s just clear up any false hopes some of you may have floating around in your head.  The chances of you getting a flood of traffic overnight from any of these sources is slim.

“Free” traffic does come at the cost of time.  This guide gives you a basic overview of these sources, some more than others. 

As of writing this post, there is also a brief snippet that discusses keyword stuffing on YouTube.  I’m not sure if this will be removed, but it’s a practice I highly discourage everyone from doing as YouTube has penalized major accounts from doing this in the past.

If you’re more of a Facebook person, there are some strategies included covering posting to your personal FB page without annoying people & posting to groups.

Chapter 7: Paid Traffic Methods

Paid.  The word that causes many different reactions from different people.

I personally love the concept of paid traffic, because I’m paying for faster results.  Keep in mind, you need to know what you’re doing when paying for traffic.  

This guide breaks down the steps to get you started with the following methods:

  • Facebook Ads
  • YouTube Ads

This section gets pretty detailed with Facebook ads.  It includes several images to accompany the text you’ll be reading through.

It covers things such as setting your daily budget for the best results, how to get a lower cost per click based on the countries you target, and it even touches on Retargeting and link tracking.

As of me writing this, the YouTube section has not yet been added.  I’ve brought this to the product creator’s attention, and he says he’s on top of it.

Chapter 8: Creating the Perfect Promotion

This is probably my favorite chapter of the book.  Based on the Table of Contents, this would seem like a short chapter as it only lists the following:

  • Traffic, Conversions, & Sales
  • The Process

Don’t let that fool you.  This section has tons to content.

Traffic, Sales, and conversions are a pretty small part of the overall chapter.  The bulk of this chapter is spent dissecting “The Process”.

Not only do you get a descriptive idea of what your squeeze page should say, you also get a pretty in-depth idea of what your bonus page should say.  The bonus page example alone takes up roughly an entire page itself.

Next, it gives you an example and the flow to writing your first follow-up email in your Autoresponder sequence.  It also gives you a brief traffic overview again.

Beyond that, it goes through a 7 day breakdown of the types of messages you should be sending to your list each day.

Chapter 9: How to Build Your Buyers List for Free

I thought I knew what this section was about before even reading it.  Turns out I was correct.

A buyers list is the highest quality list you can get, but you typically have to sell a product to get those buyers onto your list.  This section covers how you can build a buyers list without launching your own product and getting people to buy from you.

I’ve done this myself, and it does work.  However, it does take a lot of trial and error.  You certainly won’t win at this strategy all the time, or even most of the time unless you have a big industry name.

Still, it’s possible and worth learning about.

Chapter 10: Interviews for Maximum Profits

There’s not much detail to go into about this chapter.  It’s very short and just covers a few basic concepts about interviewing people.  It’ll only take a minute or so to get through this section.

Pros:

Lots of valuable content for people of all education levels to run with.

Cons:

Prefer videos broken into smaller chunks instead of long videos.

Final Verdict

This PDF starts off very newbie friendly and gets into some advanced tactics by the end.  There’s a lot of information crammed in for people of varying skill levels.  I personally don’t like reading PDF ebooks myself, but there is close to 40 minutes of video content as well.
